Some ideas for Lockdown Wellbeing support

The College is aware of the impact of Lockdowns on our College Community.
Here are some ideas for support during these times.

Video messages from the Melba Staff

Hello to the Melba community, we hope you are all safe and well. To express how much the staff at Melba are missing our students, we wanted to put together the following short video. 

The message communicated through the video is self-care. An important thing you can be doing right now is looking after your health & wellbeing. 

Some tips on how you can be looking after yourself:

  • Nutrition – Think about what you are putting into your mouth. Prioritise healthy eating. 
  • Sleep – Aim for a minimum of 8 hours of sleep per night.
  • Exercise – Aim to do 30-60 minutes of exercise per day.
  • Disconnect – Take time away from your screen and replace with spending quality time with your family and loved ones. 
  • Socialise – Maintain relationships. Use zoom, skype or other platforms to communicate with people you usually see during the week. It is important to maintain social connectedness during this time.  
  • Practice mindfulness – Be aware of what you’re sensing and feeling in the moment.

 How you’re travelling as a parent, and how does this impact your
relationship with your teen.
 Methods and strategies to support your young person
